Sarbjit biographical film on him is being directed by Indian filmmaker Omung Kumar in which Randeep Hooda is playing the lead role.
The film stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Randeep Hooda in lead roles, with Richa Chadda and Darshan Kumar essaying supporting roles in the film. The film will be narrated through the perspective of Sarabjit Singh’s sister Dalbir Kaur played by Aishwarya Rai.
After a brief trial in the Lahore High Court (later directed to the Supreme Court), he was condemned and sentenced to death in 1991, but the sentence was repeatedly postponed by the Government of Pakistan.
While in prison in April 2013, he was attacked by fellow inmates and died six days later at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore. A biographical film on him is being directed by Indian filmmaker Omung Kumar in which Randeep Hooda is playing the lead role.
Aishwarya Rai plays Sarbjit’s sister, who dedicated her entire life in getting her brother back home. Randeep Hooda plays the title role and the film also features Richa Chadha and Darshan Kumar.
