Smoking is a practice in which a substance is burned and the resulting smoke breathed in to be tasted and absorbed into the bloodstream. Some people smoke to release the hyper tensions in their life, some people smoke to maintain their standard among their high culture society.
In some cultures, smoking is also carried out as a part of various rituals, where participants use it to help induce trance-like states that, they believe, can lead them to “spiritual enlightenment”.
In Indis people started smoking since 2000 BC and it is also mentioned in the Atharvaveda. The numbers of smokers in India is increasing at a faster rate. There are approximately 120 million smokers in India. India is home to 12% of the world’s smokers, according to World Health Organization (WHO). Every year people die just because of smoking, Government spends Million and Billions on social campaigns to stop smoking. At the same time Government is also playing a double role here. Once side they are doing lots of campaigns to prevent smoking but at the same time Government is not taking any bigger step to stop this business. As per survey report 900,000 people die every year in India due to smoking as of 2009.
We all know very well that Smoking harms our body and may cause permanent damage to our health. But people still smoking to maintain their own culture and standard. Smokers Die An Average Of 10 Years Earlier Than Non-Smokers. Smoking leads to disease and disability and harms nearly every organ of the body.
